Welcome to Starty Arty!
I believe everyone is creative, and that every child deserves the opportunity to explore their creativity, build confidence and discover the joy of making.
I'm Lou, a qualified art teacher with over 20 years' experience, including 16 years as a Head of Art. Through Starty Arty, I offer inspiring weekly art classes, creative workshops and individual tuition for children aged 6–11.
Children explore a wonderful variety of art and craft techniques, including drawing, painting, clay, printmaking, textiles, mixed media and much more. Along the way, they're encouraged to develop new skills, express their own ideas and enjoy the creative process in a warm, friendly and supportive environment.
Starty Arty is a place where children are encouraged to be curious, creative and confident, discovering not only new artistic skills but also the joy of expressing themselves through art. Classes and workshops take place in Rusthall, Tunbridge Wells, in a cosy home studio and at an exciting new location in Langton Green.
Workshops
At Starty Arty, we offer a range of exciting holiday workshops designed to inspire creativity and hands-on making. Previous sessions have included clay, textiles, painting, sculpture, and mixed media projects, giving children the chance to explore a variety of materials and techniques in a fun and engaging way.
Workshops take place in small groups within a warm, homely setting in Rusthall, near Tunbridge Wells, creating a relaxed and supportive environment where children can create, experiment, and feel proud of their work.
New workshops are released throughout the year—please keep an eye on the website for upcoming dates. You can also sign up to the newsletter or follow along on Instagram to be the first to hear when new sessions are announced.
Term Time Classes
Our Art classes run during term time, with a maximum of 7 children per session (ages 6-11). This small group size ensures a focused, personalized approach, allowing each child to thrive. Designed to nurture creativity, our classes help children develop at their own pace and according to their unique abilities. We offer classes for homeschooled children and after school, we also have Saturday classes. Visit our bookings page to reserve your spot.
Over the years, I've found that children really enjoy having the opportunity to explore a wide variety of creative techniques. From September, our Art classes will bring together the very best of both art and craft into one inspiring weekly session. Rather than choosing between the two, children will enjoy an exciting mix of projects throughout the term, creating everything from paintings and drawings to clay sculptures, printmaking, collage, textiles and more.
